Use of resources
In Las Terceras, agriculture and livestock are closely linked, forming a natural and sustainable life cycle: our livestock graze freely on our lands, feeding on the natural vegetation of the area, as well as the cereals that we grow there (barley, oats and forage, mainly). Likewise, the straw from the cereals is also used to make beds for our sheep, being a material that provides comfort and protection to the animal. Later, we transform the manure produced by our sheep into natural compost. With this compost, the fields are fertilized, closing this entire interconnected circle.
On the other hand, once the Manchego cheese is made, the leftover whey is not wasted, but is used to enrich the livestock feed, strengthening their body.
