Las Terceras win 4 medals in the World Cheese Awards 2018

For the fourth consecutive year, Las Terceras cheeses have been awarded in the international cheese contest par excellence, the World Cheese Awards. On this occasion, Las Terceras wins four more medals that recognize the quality of our cheeses.

The results have been the following: A Silver medal for our Semi-cured Manchego Cheese P.D.O. in the class of Semi-hard ewes’ milk cheese plain, and a Bronze medal in the category of Any hard cheese that has been awarded a Denomination of Origin. Our Hard-Cured Manchego Cheese P.D.O. has been awarded with a Silver medal in the category of Hard ewes’ milk cheese plain. And finally, our Aged Manchego Cheese has won another silver medal as a hard cheese that has been awarded a P.D.O.

The World Cheese Awards is the largest specialized cheese contest in the world, with more than thirty years of history. This edition the contest was held in Bergen, Norway, reaching a record number of participants: more than 3,500 varieties of different cheeses, from every corner of the globe. An international jury formed by an international panel of 230 experts from 29 nations were in charge of evaluating and announcing the winning cheeses.

With these awards, Las Terceras has already accumulated a total of twelve medals in this contest, a number that we hope will continue to increase in the future.
